Media & Content Coordinator

01 Role Identity

Title

Media & Content Coordinator

Reports To

Creative Director

Ministry Area

Worship & Creative Arts — Content, Archive & Distribution

Employment Type

Full-Time

Why this role exists: To steward everything that comes off Sunday — getting the message everywhere it needs to be and reshaping it so the teaching keeps working all week.

“so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” — Isaiah 55:11 (NIV)

The word goes out and accomplishes its purpose — this role helps it keep going out.

02 The Heart of This Role

This role exists so the message doesn’t stop working when the service ends. You take what happens on Sunday and carry it everywhere — archived, clipped, and published — so the teaching keeps reaching people all week.

03 What You’ll Steward

Ownership at NorthRock is framed as stewardship — you carry these, you don’t merely execute them.

  • The Message Archive — You steward the archiving of each message to the website, YouTube, and audio and podcast platforms — reliably and on time.

  • Short-Form From the Message — You steward the reels, shorts, and clips cut from Sunday, carrying the teaching into the feed where people already are.

  • The Asset Library — You steward an organized, searchable library of finished content so the whole team can find and use it.

  • Publishing & Platforms — You steward the formatting, captions, metadata, and consistent publishing that make content land on each platform.

CURRENTLY ALSO CARRYING — FOR THIS SEASON

Sunday Service Production

For this season, this role also runs Sunday service production — playback, slides, lighting, and run-of-show. This is a current-season responsibility, not a permanent part of the seat, and is expected to become its own role as the church grows. It is intentionally not part of how success is measured below.

04 What Success Looks Like

Measured by transformation and health, not clip volume or view counts — the direction we steward toward, not outcomes any one person can guarantee.

  • Every message, everywhere — each Sunday reliably archived and easy to find across platforms.

  • The message extended — short-form content that carries the teaching beyond the room.

  • A library the team can use — finished assets organized, backed up, and easy to pull.

  • Content that ships on time — a dependable publishing rhythm, not a scramble.

Presence before performance. Formation over promotion.

05 Who You Are

These attributes describe a life, not just a skill set.

  • Organized and systems-minded — you keep an archive and a publishing calendar others can trust, and you ship reliably.

  • Platform-fluent — you know how content behaves on YouTube, podcast, and social, and format for each.

  • Spiritually anchored — you treat distribution as ministry — the message matters, not the metrics.

  • Calm under live pressure — for this season, you can also hold Sunday production without fraying.

Role-specific gifting: short-form video editing, real fluency with publishing and platform tools (web, YouTube, podcast, social), and asset management — plus working competence with Sunday production systems for this season.

06 How This Role Relates

Structures serve people. This clarity creates health, not gatekeeping.

  • Reports to: Creative Director — you carry the church’s content from Sunday out to every platform.

  • Stewards: The message archive, the asset library, and — for this season — the Sunday production systems and volunteers.

  • Decision pathway: You own archive, distribution, and short-form from the message; story capture sits with the Storyteller, and long-form editing with the Video Editor. Sunday production is a current-season responsibility expected to become its own seat. Structure never blocks communication.

07 Rhythm & Wellness

The Heart pillar — because staff are part of the mission, not a means to it.

  • The rhythm: Weekday editing and publishing deadlines anchor the rhythm, and for this season Sunday-morning availability is essential because production also sits here. Occasional evenings for events.

  • The honest word: This is meaningful work that asks for your whole heart — and NorthRock is committed to stewarding your health, your family rhythms, and your growth in return. Burnout is not celebrated here.

We move at the speed of trust. Sustainability before speed.

08 Formation & Growth

The Growth pillar — you’ll be invested in, not just deployed.

  • Regular shepherding and development from the Creative Director.

  • Clarity on your gifting and growth through the Heart / Calling / Growth rhythm and the 90-Day Review.

  • Real investment in your leadership over time.

Healthy people build healthy ministry.

09 What We Ask

  • A growing, authentic relationship with Jesus Christ and a heart to carry His message well.

  • Experience in video editing and content publishing, with fluency across web, YouTube, podcast, and social platforms, and a dependable, deadline-driven rhythm.

  • Willingness to also carry Sunday service production for this season, and full alignment with NorthRock’s mission, values, and culture.

Social Media & Photography Coordinator

Creative Director

Worship & Creative Arts — Content & Storytelling

Employment Type

Part-Time [hours to confirm]

Why this role exists: To steward the capturing and telling of what God is doing here — so the story reaches people where they already are, and stays as honest as the room it came from.

“One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts.” — Psalm 145:4 (NIV)

This role tells what God has done, so the next person and the next generation can see it.

02 The Heart of This Role

This role exists so that what God is doing here gets seen — the baptism, the volunteer who showed up early, the family that finally felt at home. You capture those moments and carry them to the places people already are, telling the truth about this church rather than marketing it.

03 What You’ll Steward

Ownership at NorthRock is framed as stewardship — you carry these, you don’t merely execute them.

  • The Church’s Social Presence — You steward how NorthRock sounds and looks online — warm, clear, and recognizably us — so our channels read as witness rather than advertising.

  • Photography & Visual Capture — You steward the photographing of weekends, events, and milestones, with the discretion to know when a moment is meant to be kept rather than posted.

  • The Image Library — You steward an organized, backed-up archive of photos the whole team can actually find and use.

  • Content Rhythm & Planning — You steward a content calendar that stays ahead of the church calendar, so series, events, and milestones are covered without scrambling.

04 What Success Looks Like

Measured by transformation and health, not follower counts or engagement numbers — the direction we steward toward, not outcomes any one person can guarantee.

  • Real moments captured — the ordinary and holy things that would otherwise go unseen.

  • A presence that sounds like us — content people recognize as this church, not a brand.

  • A library the team can use — images organized, backed up, and easy to find.

  • Content that arrives on time — coverage planned ahead rather than chased.

Presence before performance. Formation over promotion.

05 Who You Are

These attributes describe a life, not just a skill set.

  • Relational — you move through a room in a way that puts people at ease rather than on guard.

  • A storyteller — you see the moment worth keeping before it passes.

  • Trustworthy — you know when to lower the camera — discretion in tender moments matters more than the shot.

  • Spiritually anchored — you’re a worshipper in the room first, not only a documentarian of it.

  • Teachable — you take creative direction well and keep growing in the craft.

Role-specific gifting: solid photography skill with a camera and editing tools, working fluency across social platforms, and a clear written voice for captions.

06 How This Role Relates

Structures serve people. This clarity creates health, not gatekeeping.

  • Reports to: Creative Director — you bring the storytelling vision to life in photos and posts.

  • Stewards: The image library, the content calendar, and any photography volunteers you help train.

  • Decision pathway: You own the execution of social content and photography; creative direction and voice are set with the Creative Director, and live production sits with the Media Director. When clarity is needed, you have direct relational access — structure never blocks communication.

07 Rhythm & Wellness

The Heart pillar — because staff are part of the mission, not a means to it.

  • The rhythm: Sundays are the anchor for capturing weekend moments, with flexible mid-week hours for editing, scheduling, and planning, plus occasional evenings for events. Hours are defined and protected as a part-time role.

  • A growing, authentic relationship with Jesus Christ and a heart to tell His story honestly.

  • Demonstrated photography skill with a portfolio, and experience managing social channels.

  • A clear written voice, comfort with editing tools, and the ability to deliver on deadline.

  • Discretion with people in tender moments, and full alignment with NorthRock’s mission, values, and culture.
